The Challenge

What the Client Provided

The brief was clear: two distinct PowerPoint templates for a women's health presentation on menopause, with specific color restrictions (no purple, burgundy, or gold). The topic is one that affects over a billion women globally, but most health presentations on it default to the same tired palette and stock-photo clichés. The client needed templates that could carry sensitive, data-heavy content without feeling clinical or patronizing. They also needed options, not a single direction, so the right tone could be chosen for the right audience.

Dots Solution

Avoided the obvious palette.

Most menopause presentations lean on purples, burgundies, and golds because that's what the category defaults to. The client knew this and ruled those out. We built two palettes that break the pattern: one warm and grounded (terracotta and cream), one bold and modern (blue and green). Both feel respectful without feeling predictable, which matters when the audience is tired of being spoken to in clichés.

Kept data connected to people.

Health statistics can feel abstract fast. Both templates pair every major number with real photography, so a stat like "+1.1 billion women" lands next to an actual person, not a stock icon. This keeps the audience anchored in human experience rather than drowning in percentages.

Built two genuinely different directions.

Two templates doesn't mean one design in two colors. The warm option uses full-bleed photography, curved timeline diagrams, and a soft editorial feel suited for patient-facing or community settings. The bold option uses structured grids, progress bars, and clean iconography built for clinical or corporate audiences. Each template works for a different room.

Made complex stages scannable.

Menopause isn't a single event. It's a multi-stage process spanning decades. The warm template maps perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause along a curved visual timeline with age ranges, so the audience grasps the full journey in one glance. The bold template breaks symptoms into a card-based grid with percentage bars, letting a presenter walk through six data points without a single slide feeling overloaded.

The Results

What we have designed

The client received two template systems - one warm and editorial for patients, another bold and structured for clinical audiences. Both make sensitive health data approachable while maintaining impact, and allow non-designers to update content while preserving clarity and professionalism.
